2015 WAS A BIG YEAR BEHIND THE KEYBOARD FOR UNCLE DAD. After spending most of 2014 accepting freelance work from anyone who came calling, I was able to get a bit more selective about who I published with this year, and the things I published for them. Working with smarter, more invested editors challenges me to produce better stories, including a couple forays into fiction and my first-ever trend piece.

At Thrillist, my writing took big steps, too. I moved from senior writer to writer-at-large this year, allowing me more freedom to choose stories I was personally passionate about. This is a huge privilege for any writer, and I tried to make the best of it with three deeply reported features, each of which forced me to get out of my comfort zone and go ask strangers (sorta) tough questions.

You can stay up-to-date on my published work by following this website’s Twitter handle, where I tweet all links to newly published #content. DO IT NOW! Or later, I guess. That works too. Anyway, here are what I believe to be the 22 best pieces I wrote in 2015.
